His vision is for the network to facilitate open exchange of information across boundaries in Europe and respect various local communities, while upholding principles of free speech and access to information. The goal is for members to contribute to developing IA in Europe through shared practice, research, and education.

54. VII We contribute to the European dimension of information architecture in theory, practice, research and education , by focusing on all contextual aspects of individuals and groups interacting with information in their personal life, their work, and play.
