BUSINESS MODEL: BRIGADERS ROLE
Business brigades provide volunteers with the
opportunity to work first-hand with community banks,
family businesses, and Business Program directors,
coordinators, technicians and translators to:
 Provide financial literacy education
 Micro-enterprise counselling and consulting
 Promote community-based credit and savings to
community members
 Empower communities via mutually beneficial
cultural exchanges
 Establish and foster global relationships

 Brigade logistics (53%)
Includes lodging, food, GB staff, transportation, pharmacy utilities, compound
expenses, compounds staff, warehouse assitants, extra medicine and medical/dental

Includes Community Development/R&E staff, community follow-up, data informatics
system patient referral system, community health workers (CHW) program, etc.

Airplane Flight
 Will be booked as a group departing from LAX.
 Information regarding transportation to LAX will be provided closer
to departure.
Brigade Travel:
 Global Brigades on-site transportation services provided
Required for Travel:
VALID Passport
 Your passport must be valid for 6 months AFTER departure date of
January 9, 2015.
 If it is going to expire prior to 6 MONTHS AFTER, you must begin the
passport renewal process IMMEDIATELY and ask for expedited
shipping.
 No Visa necessary if from: (not an exhaustive list)
USA, South Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, Taiwan, Canada

necessary for other countries of origin. Please
contact us if you do not posses a US Passport.

USC HEALTH TRAVEL CLINIC:
Your Trip Leaders will coordinate a mandatory health travel clinic at the USC Engemanns Health Center
 The Travel Clinic at the Engemann Student Health Center offers personalized health and travel information
to the students of USC. Students will receive consultations based upon their personal health, immunization
history and areas of intended travel.
 Students will be provided with the most current travel information available from the Centers for Disease
Control and from a computerized Travel Health Information Service.
