Tuberculosis remains a major global health problem. The document analyzes TB incidence and treatment rates across several countries in Africa and the Middle East. It finds that Djibouti, Somalia and Pakistan have the highest TB incidence rates, while countries like Jordan, West Bank/Gaza and UAE have the lowest. The WHO's DOTS strategy aims to detect 70% of cases and successfully treat 85% of them. Many countries have achieved high treatment success rates, but most need to improve their case detection rates to reach WHO targets. Expanding DOTS programs can help control the TB epidemic worldwide.
