The Al Taleb Tutoring Centre is inviting parents to a special session on "Infant and Children Psychological Well-being" on Thursday, April 16th from 5-6:30pm at the Teachers Association Building across from the RAK Education Zone. The talk will focus on creating a "parent strategy" for raising a healthy child and family by understanding child development and how to help children through difficult periods. The speaker, Dr. Bryn Williams, is a clinical psychologist who has worked in the UK and Channel Islands and has a specialist interest in children, young people, and families.

The Texas outbreak has slowed down, but sporadic cases continue to emerge in Kansas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico.
Elsewhere in the US, we continue to see signs of acceleration due to outbreaks outside the Southwest (North Dakota, Montana, and Colorado) and travel-related cases. Measles exposures due to travel are expected to pose a significant challenge throughout the summer.
The U.S. is on track to exceed its 30-year high for measles cases (1,274) within the next two weeks.

Understanding your child's development and knowing how to recognize and help your children through difficult periods of their lives, is a large part of preparing them to become adults. This talk will focus on the foundations of creating a "parent strategy" for raising a healthy child and, therefore, a healthy family. Parents are the experts on their children and the goal of this talk is to help equip you with an understanding of how to achieve psychological well-being and good development in your children. About the speaker Dr Bryn Williams is a chartered consultant clinical psychologist with a specialist interest in children, young people and families. He is a partner in an international psychological consultancy based in Oxford, UK, and with offices in the Channel Islands and Zurich, Switzerland. Prior to developing his private consultancy in 2006, Dr. Bryn practiced as a clinical psychologist in the NHS and States of Jersey and as a research psychologist at the Institute of Psychiatry, London, UCL Institute of Child Health and Great Ormond Street Hospital, London.
