Triple axis spectrometer SIKA
The SIKAs dance floor consist of 34 solid granite tiles.
The instrument could be used for both thermal cold
neutron TAS. The best energy resolution of 0.0275 meV
(FWHM) is provided at Ei= 2.6 meV
Agreement signed off between
ANSTO and NCU.

Editor's Notes

  • #15: Dont mention that the reactor runs for 300 The user program is 250 days/year. Taiwan gets 70 % of that on SIKA People will ask about swapping this for other beam time, we want to but ANSTO management is not in favour at the moment.
  • #16: Can mention that it would be great if SIKA could have its own. Better use, better understanding and better background. If they ask, this costs 6M NT$
  • #19: What is needed here is HIGH-Q data up to 2A-1. That means our background needs to be better
  • #22: Taiwan has no office
  • #23: SIKA in the 2015-2 ANSTO call ~120 days requested. About 50 days given away, so 2* demand NEED more taiwanese users interested in INELASTIC NEUTRON SCATTERING Sika can help with diffraction studies, but we cant do crystallography. Only d-spacing and order parameter type measurements Mention that we are working hard to reduce the background and improve the detector system that was very noisy and slow
