Selection tests fall into four main categories: cognitive abilities, motor and physical abilities, personality and interests, and achievement. Cognitive ability tests measure intellectual capacity, motor tests assess physical skills, personality tests evaluate traits like extraversion and conscientiousness, and achievement tests examine current knowledge in areas like math or language skills. Different types of questions are used to measure the various abilities being assessed by the selection tests.
