This biography tells the story of Waterhouse Hawkins, known for constructing life-sized models of dinosaurs in the 1850s. Hawkins was an English sculptor and artist who created the first full-scale reconstructions of dinosaurs based on the new science of paleontology emerging at the time. His models, constructed out of concrete and brick, were displayed in London's Crystal Palace park and helped the public visualize what scientists believed dinosaurs may have looked like.
