oversee the development of strategic plan and
execution of grant and sponsorship process.

oversee memberships with strategic partnership
within the community and develop volunteer
recruitment by overseeing the staffing committee
and volunteer coordinator.

The key to success is to choose opportunities that match your skills,
interests and availability. In addition to carefully reading the
opportunity description and other information provided by the
organization, we recommend you consider the following:
Type of organization
Would you like to support a community-based grassroots organization, a national or
international NGO, a local government or HEARTLAND PRIDE?
Development topic
Is there a cause you would like to support? Is there an area that you would like to explore
or gain some experience in.
Time commitment
How much time per week would you like to devote to volunteering ? Would you like to
get involved in a long-term project, or would you rather commit to a short-term
assignment with a fixed end date?
Task & Skills
What tasks do you enjoy undertaking? What skills would you like to share with an
organization?.
15. GET INVOLVED
Sign up with the volunteer form online at

as important for volunteering as it is for grant
funding..thank you for doing this)
Pick area to work or try something and go from
there.
Get involved in the meetings. Check with your
committee Chair for dates and times. 1st and 3rd
Wednesday at the Downtown Library for progress
briefings.
