Pak Lebai was invited to two parties in different villages on the same day and time. He kept changing his mind on which party to attend, first paddling towards one village but then changing direction based on new information. In the end, he did not make it to either party. Instead, he decided to go home, take supplies for hunting and fishing, and go on a hunting trip with his dog to entertain himself since he failed to get a buffalo head from the parties.
