Coy Quakenbush is a native North Carolinian artist who has been designing Native American style handcrafts, wall hangings, and wood carvings for years in his home studio. He draws inspiration from his childhood spent exploring the woods and rivers near his home, and also from the landscapes and natural phenomena he still observes outside. Quakenbush has worked in carpentry and woodworking for over 40 years, and more recently has created many pieces in Native American styles using various media like wood, beads, and leather. He began working with clay in 1996 because it connected him to his childhood and Native American heritage, and allows him to recreate designs from cultures like the Mimbres and Casa Grande through potTurning green

Emile Galle was a pioneering French artist in the Art Nouveau movement. He took over his family's glass workshop and experimented with new styles inspired by nature. Galle sought to integrate craftsmanship with industrial production. His works featured intricate botanical designs blown into the glass by hand. Australian artist Colin Heaney was also inspired by nature in his glassblowing works, though his designs were more abstract. Like Galle, Heaney balanced artistic experimentation with a production line to support his craft. Both artists used glass vessels as a canvas to illustrate natural designs.Ad

- 10. Graham spent many hours on the beach collecting drift wood, shells and sea-glass pieces of glass eroded by the sea into marble sized pieces. The drift wood was eventually used in his craftwork.

- 14. Grahams first attraction to wood turning was as a child watching a neighbour, Ned Rollock, working in his workshop in Speightstown. The sight and sound of the chisels cutting into the wood with streams of wood dust would have been spellbinding.
