8. (1) Cultural or semi religious folk dances :
ïƒ performed to appease the local villages
deities for betterment of the society.
ïƒ incorporate sanctity.
ïƒ primarily sacred in nature.
(2) Social folk dances :
ïƒ performed as part of celebration of ceremonies
like weddings ,naming, cradling of children.
(3) Warrior dance:
ïƒ performed just before the tribe is to leave on a big hunt, after a hunt, to
mark the sacrificial ceremony with the sacrificial animal in the center.
(4) Seasonal dance:
ïƒ performed to exhibit the joy o f the tribe after a good harvest .
ïƒ mainly performed in rainy season /spring season.
