Vbulletin is a forum software developed by Jelesoft and Vbulletin Solutions. It was first created in 1999 and originally called ubb.threads. Vbulletin 1.0 was officially released in 2000. Over time, newer versions like Vbulletin 3.0 and 4.0 were released with improved features such as a WYSIWYG editor, payment processing, mobile apps, and integration with Facebook. While popular, Vbulletin faces competition from other forum platforms like Invision Power Board and Xenforo.

In1999 James E. Limm and John Percival
were working on a project in visual in
basic and were also using a forum
software name ubb.threads.
Later in Vbulletin in February 2000 they
decided to write their own solution but
were unfamiliar with the softwares code
and could not optimize it. But finally they
formed jelesoft and released Vbulletin v.1

In 2000 Jelesoft released a Vbulletin lite
which was a degraded version of the

In may2001 when version 2.0 came out
Jelesoft discounted Vbulletin lite due to it
was a non profit project and had a lot of
security issues
6. Vbulletin 3.X Series
Version 3.0.0 Vbulletin was released on March
19,2004
Vbulletin version 3 was a huge improvement
from version 2.
Vbulletin 3 has a built in WYSWIG.
Version 3 also adapted to allow XHTML & CSS.
They also added a payment gateway system
that offers a lot of payment processing
systems such as PayPal and Alert pay.
Now today Vbulletin V3.X Series no longer
receives Vbulletin support.
7. Vbulletin 4.X
Vbulletin 4 was released to the public
back in December 2009.
Vbulletin made 2 version of the version 4
series (Forum Classic, Vbulletin Publishing
Suite).
The Publishing suite comes with a built in
blog system and content management
system(CMS)
