Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan is an Indian educationist, philanthropist, and entrepreneur who founded Amity University and Institutions. He was born in 1942 in Uttar Pradesh, India and received his M.Sc. in Chemistry and Ph.D. in chemical engineering. In 1973, he started his own business in Frankfurt that grew to a US$1.6 billion group of companies. In 1991, he established Amity International School in New Delhi and Amity University, one of the first private universities in India. Dr. Chauhan has received numerous national and international awards for his contributions to education and entrepreneurship.

Aalok is a member of APMs Thames Valley Regional Network and also speaks to members of APMs PMO Interest Network, which aims to facilitate collaboration and learning, offer unbiased advice and guidance.
Tonight, Aalok planned to discuss the importance of a PMO within project-based organisations, the different types of PMO and their key elements, PMO governance and centres of excellence.
PMOs within an organisation can be centralised, hub and spoke with a central PMO with satellite PMOs globally, or embedded within projects. The appropriate structure will be determined by the specific business needs of the organisation. The PMO sits above PM delivery and the supply chain delivery teams.
