The main aim of this study is to analyze ex-ante the likely socio- economic impact of the 2014 FIFA World Cup that will take place in Brazil. The recent trends of highly competitive bids to be designated host country of a sport mega-event show us the bidders believe such events to generate positive impacts. In this paper, we analyze through a descriptive approach the main aspects of potential economic and social effects through the organization of the World Cup, while contrasting it with the major cost and risks Brazil is bearing.
Our conclusions show that organizing a major sporting event is a unique opportunity for economic and social development, can accelerate infrastructure improvement and it is a major factor for gaining in international reputation, and, therefore, increasing in the long run a countrys soft power. However, in the case of Brazil, the high cost, widespread popular discontent, safety issues, lack of planning and coordination may have an important negative impact, which is likely to offset the benefits. It has been said that Brazil is the country of the future, and always will be. - 2. After successfully organizing rink football tournaments for Men (Open Category) and Women, Sportnicians - The Sports People turned their guns on the Veterans. A tournament for men who are 40+ in age but can give the youngsters a run for their money anytime!! The veterans turned on the magic on the football turf!! Its exhilarating when you watch a 66yr old pass the football to his team mates and defends the ball with extreme ease. Indeed such was the scene at the recently organised Summer Cup 2016 - Mens veterans rink football tournament which was planned, coordinated and executed by Sportnicians -The Sports People.

We definitely live in the youngistan world but these players aged between 40 years - 66 years showed that old is definitely gold and especially when the team that won the tournament is named Golden Gunners defeating Golden Boys, its a sone pe suhaga moment. After successfully organising the open and womens rink football tournament, Sportnicians - The Sports People were once again able to pull out these breadwinners of their families from their daily hustle bustle of life and get them on the turf to play a game to which they gave it their all in their younger days. The smile on their tired faces...the cheering from their families and the kids wanting to be like their Dads is proof enough that you dont need a big league to play a game...all you need is a small push, a holding hand that takes you back to the game you love and lets you build memories youll cherish forever. Sportnicians -The Sports People are glad that they were able to do that for all the veteran teams that participated and stood true to their promise of catering to your every sport need.
- 7. The tournament was officiated by qualified and experienced referees. The referees ensured that all matches were played in true sportsmanship spirit. All the teams and players accepted all the decisions given by the referees which ensured that the tournament concluded very smoothly
