This document outlines a proposal for a 5 minute video about the community work of Reading Football Club and their Kickz program. The video will include interviews with the Head of the Community Scheme at Reading FC and participants in Kickz discussing how the program helps youth and reduces crime. It will provide statistics on youth issues in the area and show archive footage of Kickz in action. The target audience is those aged 10+ and the goal is to raise awareness of Kickz and how it benefits communities. The video will be uploaded to YouTube.

Proposal for My Video Task 1: Name of Production 'Onto The Pitch' 'Off The Streets' Reason for following this issue I support Reading Football Club and I hear a lot of good press about the social community work that goes on behind the scenes at the club which has gained a good reputation. This being the case, and after being given this task I thought it would be a good opportunity to research into the Community work the club does and then focus on some of the social problems the club tries to help with within the local area. I also back the social schemes such as Kickz which try to assist young adults in getting them out of trouble and getting them into football because I believe sport can act as a way of socialising as well as being a route out of crime for people of all ages. Length of Production I will aim to produce a video of about 5 minutes. Anything longer can lead to the audience possibly loosing concentration and watching something else and whereas anything shorter of 4 minutes is difficult to fit in all the vital information needed in your video. Interviewees in Production My final production will include videos with somebody who takes part in the Kickz training scheme which will involve him discussing why he signed up for Kickz, What he believes he gets out of it, Why he would recommend it to others and name all the reasons as to why it's changed his life. I will also interview Reading Football Club's Head of Community Scheme. He will discuss why Reading get involved in Kickz, What it does for the club and its reputation, what it gives those participating in it and his views on how it has affected the local area. I will be interviewing Garry Webb, the Head of Community Scheme at Reading Football Club and possibly several of participants at kickz.
Production Angle The angle of my production is to raise the awareness of Kickz and Reading's evolvement within the Community and what they have done to the numbers of crime and to those within the community. It will not have any disadvantages or minor effects that come out of it as I back both of them and want its reputation to rise and to become more popular. From this, it may get better funding from the government which would not only create the chance to build more centres for them to work in but enable more people to sign up and get involved which would also help more youths across the UK. Production Layout The beginning of my production, I will have an introduction naming the title of the production, being ‘Kicking Out Krime’ and then it will be followed by several facts and numbers relating to problems about youth problem in Berkshire. Also I will show the beginning of my interview with the Head Of Community officer at Reading Football Club. The middle of my production will hold some archive footage of the Kickz project in action, and also an interview I got of the internet with the head of Kickz at Crystal Palace Football Club. The middle section of the video will also show all the Clubs around the country who are involved with Kickz. The last part to my video, will conclude some of the interviews I will attach into my video plus more archive footage Target Audience My target audience is people aged 10+. There is no age cap for my production as I'm hoping people of any age can watch it and if they have children themselves who may or may not be getting into trouble can use Kickz as a route to find the right path to success and for them to find their true and full potential. Where Video will be uploaded The video will uploaded onto YouTube.
