The influence of Gustav Klimt in the artworks of this Ukrainian artist, Victor Zaretsky (1925-1990), is quite obvious. However, this does not mean that he just copied the works of the Austrian painter. Zaretsky developed his own artistic language, which made his paintings unique

43. Victor Zaretsky (1925-1990) born in Sumy region is one of the most talented
and famous artists of Ukraine. He studied at the Kyiv Art Institute and worked
in the field of easel and monumental painting. As well as his wife, Alla Horska,
he was one of the Sixtiers. This is a name given in Ukraine to the 1960s
group of artists who rejected the principles of Socialist Realism with their
creativity and refused to let their artworks (paintings, poems, plays, etc.) serve
the interests of the Soviet authorities. He organized his own studio of arts,
which he headed from 1978 to 1985 (in his art studio studied more than 200
students). He created the direction "Ukrainian Secession", and the influence of
Klimt in his artworks is quite obvious. However, this does not mean that he just
copied the works of the Austrian painter. Zaretsky developed his own artistic
language, which made his paintings unique.
