Howie wants to tell his close friend Bonnie that he has romantic feelings for her, but is afraid because she already has a boyfriend. Howie summons his courage and directly tells Bonnie that he "likes" her, giving her a plastic rose. Bonnie reveals that she did not realize the extent of Howie's feelings for her.
