Chris Hughes owns a small hobby farm called The Orchards Farm consisting of 7 acres that he owns and 40 acres of rented grazing land. He has around 100 sheep and over 100 rare breed chickens that he breeds and sells eggs from. Lambing season is busy, with Chris and his family checking on the sheep through the night to assist with births. Chris described his process for assisting with births, making sure lambs receive colostrum, and bonding ewes and lambs before releasing them into fields.
