Editor's Notes

  • #4: Change is about making alterations to the vision of statement purpose, culture, structure, and processes in response to seen to make sure continue improvement and progress is happening. One major fact is when to change and when to implement changes. When a vision need to expand its goals and its audience change is absolutely necessary for the survival of individuals and organizations, unless you are willing to become irrelevant. We have little or no control in a state of constant change and as a leader your job to sense when changes in the organization are going to be necessary, and when you need to shift from the old to the new because of deregulation that bring major shifts in power. Demographic changes in the population creates pressure for change in organization and structural responses to demographic diversity include policies and programs like equal opportunity and affirmative action that changes the workforce has with many needs ,and often creates new training requirements. Globalization is one example of the need to change because with globalization comes competition, for workforce, and makes a differences in the skills, attitudes, and needs of the workforce with an increases in communications problems. Another factor for change is the change is information technology that rapidly changing and calling for decentralization and downsizing. People must develop new skills, that often shifts from centralized functions to operating units. In order to upgrade to new paradigm shift from old to new we must use technology to enhance learning and compete in the global workplace and to prepare students to compete in this new global world and careers. Change is especially necessary in organizations that wish to prosper in a volatile, uncertain, complex, environment. Powerful forces in the environment are pressuring public and private organizations to alter existing structures, policies, and practices, (Bolman & Deal, 1991).

  • #7: 21st century learning skills is important to the core subjects because of the No Child Left Behind Act that the policy makers focus used subject competencies aligned with outcomes to promote core academic content at much higher levels. Learning skills in the 21st century demands was state required students to know more than core subjects that need to know how to use their knowledge and skills-by thinking critically, applying knowledge to new situations, analyzing information, comprehending new ideas, communicating, collaborating, solving problems, and making decisions with technology enhanced instructions the driving force used in workplaces, communities, and personal lives in the 21st century emphasizing the importance of incorporating information and communication technologies into education beginning in elementary. In context learning experiences are important using student personal lives to connect with the world beyond the classroom, and authentic projects essential to the Partnership for 21st Century Skills which stages it as the appropriate context for learning in the information age, content essential for preparing students to live and work in a 21st century world. The twenty first century also use assessment that measure emerging and challenging fields for innovation, that moves beyond standardized testing as the sole measure of student learning, but balance it with traditional tests, classroom assessments to measure all of the student skills, and use technology assessments to deliver immediate feedback.
  • #8: A vision statement sets out a company's long-term goals with clearly and concisely. A vision statement purpose is to inspire and motivate the organization and workforce by providing a vision of where the organization is heading, and it is a reality check for managers, who can compare their strategic objectives and operational plans to the vision statement if a course of action doesn't move the company toward its vision, change need to take place and need to be revised, (Kotler, 1967).
  • #9: For justification talk with your community, and reflect community values with questions of what does this community really care about? There must be cooperation between the administrative leadership and educators in the district that communicate the vision of the informed by current educational research, as well as not limiting the vision to the school or borders of the town. Stakeholders must no that joint ventures or mergers can strengthen student achievement, increase student opportunity, and achieve efficiencies, and it is a must for 21st century learning skills to view technology to expand opportunity for the vision to inspire so the vision discover its destiny, and for school districts, that destiny must lie in improving achievement for all students because it is the top priority for public vision with anything less than student achievement as the top priority cannot fulfill the promise of public education that moves the vision from the paper to practice. The vision takes form in the day-to-day actions of everyone in the organization, and in a school district that includes everyone, the employees, and all other stakeholders such as parents, community members, business, government agencies, and higher education where the whole community is engaged in the vision which make it more likely to be achieved. Communication of the vision to the entire community is essential because it is important that you as board members displays the key points of the vision repeating them often and embracing the vision to develop the constant purpose and sustain the vision to help guide leadership to sustain your vision. This constancy of purpose will guide your leadership.
