A classic movie Guide (Hindi version) is among the top three Bollywood movies, produced by Dev
Anand and directed by Goldie. I must have watched it around hundred times, whenever feeling low
or high or confused or amazed during the journey of the life. There are many blogs and speeches
analyzing Guide however critics, journalists and analysts failed to capture all the angles and directors
thoughts. The entire crew has delivered the magic and surely is the eighth wonder of the world. The
most complex written novel and subject has been simplified. Story is so smoothly conveyed to
audiences, making cinema a powerful media. Goldie was just 30 when he re-written, edited, and
directed this movie, its his clarity, sharp mind, spontaneity, continuity, grasp and hard work!
All songs are musical and wonderful. One of the musical songs Aaj phir jine ki tamanna hai was shot
on the road from Udaipur to Chittodgad, and then at Chittodgad fort. Chittod was in mind, from the
day I heard the speech of Atalji and his comment about Allauddin khiljee. Added to it, shooting
locations of Guide and this song have attracted me. I also visited Limbadi (100 km from Ahmedabad)
along with a friend and die-hard fan of Anand brothers, Sharadji Vyas from Gandhinagar. It was too a
wonderful and exciting visit and experience.
Below is the brief capture of the visit to Chittodgad, capturing the shooting locations. I wanted to feel
Devsaabs presence, Waheedajis beauty, Eye of Cameraman Fali and Craftsmanship of Great Goldie!
Duration : Started from Pune on 16th
Dec 2022, a train via at 8:30 am reaching Chittodgad at mid-night
12:45 am. For general tourists 3-4 hours are sufficient to visit the places, however I planned 2 full days
at Chittodgad till 19th
Dec. A day journey of 16 hours was not boring due to the excitement to visit the
locations and proved worth!
Dance Mudra
2. Dancing-Running-Jumping : Goldie made Waheedaji to run even on rough surface, and jump over
the gap; that too bare feet! (Ambitious to live, contended to die situation)- 爐爐 爐爐逗ぐ 爐爐萎え爛 爐爐 爐爐萎ぞ爐爐
爐項 ; she delivers with excellent expression, energy and spontaneity justifying the job.
4. Teasing : Goldie located a perfect location of 30 meters in 400 hector fort. Waheedaji is standing
on top curved portion of fort, throws stone at Devsaab. He is concerned , and scared that she may
fall. He suggests to be careful and move back.
