However, they kept the same image and the new company, Victoria's Secret became in the early 1990's the world's largest American lingerie retailer topping one billion dollars(!). The brand is also well known for its sumptuous fashion shows featuring top fashion models and do even have its own "Secret Angels" as most visible models and spokeswomen. The Angels are amongst othersHeidi Klum, Adriana Lima, Karolina Kurkova,Alessandra Ambrosio, Selita Ebanks and Izabel Goulart. The 2011 Victorias Secret Fashion Show was taped in New York City at the Lexington Avenue Armory Wednesday night (Nov 9) for a TV special that will air on CBS later this month. The pink carpet featured appearances from various celebs like TV personality Lala Anthony, R&B singer Maxwell, Hip-Hop mogul and philanthropist Russell Simmons, actor Cuba Gooding Jr., model Tyson Beckford and Maroon 5 front-man Adam Levine. Supermodels Chanel Iman and Miranda Kerr looked absolutely stunning as they ripped the runway, showing off the brands newest and sexiest styles of lingerie, with Kerr walking down the runway wearing the $2.5 million diamond-studded bra designed by London Jewelers. The Victorias Secret Fashion Show airs Tuesday, November 29th at 10 pm ET on CBS.

The show will be broadcast December 4, 2007 on CBS. I just read an article in the Wall Street Journal about how Victoria's Secret is slowly changing their target customer. Traditionally they have targeted the young adult crowd with lingerie and undergarments; however, they are expanding their product line to include pajamas and fragrances that are targeted at younger "tween" customers. This is especially evident around the Christmas season. Do you think it is dangerous to target such a young market when the majority of their products are for a more adult customer? Do you think this will encourage promiscuity? Or do you think it's better for the business for them to expand their product line I have noticed recently that VS has been promoting their product line "pink" which even has its own store now, therefore I think that this product line is more of the "younger" type which is not promoting promiscuity as much as their lingerie product line. I do think it's better for business to expand their product line, and maybe they could separate those two images and have both. Or maybe it would be a fun thing for VS to alter their image for the young more fun image. Therefore, I do agree with this strategy in changing their target market. Good question Lauren.
