vMOKO is a mobile app called MoleMap created by a team of New Zealand dermatologists led by Dr. Lance O'Sullivan to help detect melanomas. The app allows users to take photos of moles and lesions on their skin that are analyzed by the app's artificial intelligence to check for early signs of melanoma that doctors may miss without advanced technology or skills. The goal is to improve early detection of skin cancer through a simple mobile solution.
11. ? The unique idea of
MoleMap came about as a
team of New Zealand
dermatologists recognised
that melanomas were
being missed in routine
skin checks, as doctors did
not always have the
technology or skills to
recognise melanomas,
particularly at the early
stage.
