This document outlines an activity where students will use Google Earth to briefly look at seven volcanoes around the world before splitting into groups to more deeply research a specific volcano. Each group will research their assigned volcano by looking up pictures, information, nearby landmarks, eruptions, and other volcano facts from slides and websites.

briefly look at seven before groups will break off and look more deeply at a specific
one.
 They will explore

 Information
 other landmarks near the area
 Other facts about the volcano (ex. When it erupted if it has)
 And other specific information stated in the slide
3. Specific information to research about this volcano: recent information about the eruption currently
happening.
4. Specific information to research about this volcano: photos of the volcano from previous explosions.
5. Specific information to research about this volcano: since this volcano is so close to home, look up how
it affected surrounding areas.
6. Specific information to research about this volcano: look at other pictures from this national park.
7. Specific information to research about this volcano: look at surrounding cities and their attractions.
8. Specific information to research about this volcano: look up climate and weather in this area.
9.  Each group will be given a specific volcano and using Google Earth and other
necessary websites look up:
 Pictures
 Information
 other landmarks near the area
 Other facts about the volcano (ex. When it erupted if it has)
 And other specific information stated in the slide
