Traffic conditions in Vadodara city are chaotic due to a high population of over 3.2 million people and more than 534,500 vehicles on the roads, with an additional 7,500 vehicles added each year. Currently there are only 467 traffic personnel compared to the minimum required number of 778. The Vadodara Traffic Education Trust was formed in 2008 with a mission to regulate traffic through training local volunteers, raising traffic awareness, and improving traffic infrastructure. The Trust uses a recruitment process involving registration, medical exams, interviews and traffic tests to select volunteers who are then given incentives to encourage good performance, though high volunteer turnover is a weakness. Opportunities exist in rural areas while disregard for traffic rules poses a threat. The

Department of Social work where college
students voluntarily take initiative towards
society.
Promote the program as a social initiative and a
jump-start to their career.
