As you know.. Adults need 30 minutes of physical activity each day Children need 60 minutes of physical activity each day Hey kids,  ¡°by walking a little every day, you are closer to reaching this 60 minutes of physical activity¡±!
Guess What!! If you can build up your walking, day by day, every week¡­ You¡¯ll get fitter You¡¯ll become stronger  You¡¯ll sleep better at night You¡¯ll have more energy Best of all, you¡¯ll feel  GREAT ! You and your friends can get together and walk to your hearts content!

Important Facts about Walking! Research has shown that walking 30minutes a day adds 1.3 healthy years to your lifespan. Shorter and faster walks (20 minutes) are best for conditioning your heart and lungs. Research has also shown that people who walk approximately 20-25 miles per week outlive those who don¡¯t walk by several years.
Why not try walking to school? Walking to school will give you a great start to the day! W.O.W~ Walk on Wednesdays  is a new programme primary schools are running to get children more active. See how W.O.W can help you to be a healthier, happier you!

Useful Tips for Walking Start slowly, enjoy being out and about and gradually build up to the recommended 30 minutes walking a day. Drink water before and after your walk. Don¡¯t forget to wear comfortable shoes/trainers. Loose fitted clothing is advisable for walking.
