It is written in PHP and MySQL and licensed under the GPLv2, which allows anyone to develop on top of WordPress and share or modify the software freely. More than 100 WordCamps have been held worldwide, organized by volunteers and sponsored by companies so tickets are affordable. WordCamp Phoenix has over 5 days of classes, food, drinks and giveaways for $25-35 tickets.
