Lesson Plan
Objective: Following set of objectives are to be achieved:
I. To understand how the ARPANET evolved into Internet. Meaning of the
Internet and how it functions.
II. Examination of Switching concepts, which indicates the process of
selection of routes over the Internet.
III. To explore the transmission of data by guided (wired) media and by
unguided (wireless) media. And different options in both of them such as
optical fibre, radio waves or satellite communications.
IV. Devices used to connect the different networks such as Router, Bridge
etc.
V. To understand the Topology and its types such as Bus, Star, Tree
topology. Topology defines the way computers are connected.
VI. To examine how the protocol functions. Protocol defines the parameters
based on which communication happens.
VII. To get the details about need of computer security and how it is
implemented. The idea of cyber crimes, cyber laws, hackers etc. are
covered.
VIII. The Internet functions on Client-Server model. What requirements are
needed and different technologies such as HTTP, HTML, URL, Scripting
Languages etc. are covered.
IX. The concept of e-commerce, mobile banking, online payments etc. are
discussed.
Content Analysis: The various concepts related to digital communication and
networking are discussed. It deals with the evolution of networking and covers
up to the modern trend of Web 2.0. The latest technologies such as AJAX are
included.
Network Security concepts are thoroughly examined. Along with
different threats like Virus, Worm, Hackers etc. are discussed. Cyber Crimes,
Laws and Indian IT Act-2000 along with some of its key highlights are
discussed.
Different tools used in Web Access such Web Browser, Servers are
examined. Online shopping and payments along with the facilitating apps are
key highlights of this session.
Expected Results: Students are expected to understand
