Starting point:
*Planning a studyunit to increase creativity by the
use of Social Media
*Creative methods used in contact lessons in
classrooms within social service studies: music,
drama, arts & crafts, sports , photography etc.
*Social media known by students and used during
studies: Optima (virtual classroom), Skype, Connect
Pro, Google tools, FB, Twitter, Youtube etc.
*Students have already learnt how to make
innovations, how to be creative during their
socalled Business spirit studies (B-Spirit)
Questions:
1. Can we teach creative methods in social
media?
2. Can we increase peoples creativeness and
make it available to everybodys daily life by
using social media?
3. Can people experience and produce
creativity and new ideas by the use of social
media?
4. Can we make people inspired, co-operative
and innovative by the use of social media?
Objectives:
*To plan in groups a happening or workshop in
social media by using creative methods
*To increase learning and creativeness by the
use of social media
*To learn how to use the social media as a tool
of counselling creative methods, sharing ideas,
making new things and innovate together
Implementation:
1. The instructions needed in the beginning:
-Instructions of how to use the social media,
how to behave in social media, instructions of
the tools of social media.
-Instructions of dialogue
-Organizing the counselling needed (mainly
discussion arenas)
2. Writing about how one uses social media
oneself and gathering information and writing
how people in average use the social media.
3. Reading articles of how creativity is found in
everyday life and preparing a mind-map of it.
4. Planning in a group of 4 students how to
councel a happening or workshop virtually to a
chosen group. Implementing the workshop.
Keeping a diary and document it.
5. Meeting regularly with the other students in
social media and sharing peer-to peer advice,
evaluation, ideas etc.
6. Writing an article to a blog about the
implementation and evaluation of the workshop.
Reading the other students articles.
7. Evaluating the studyunit; learning creative
methods, counselling the group, using social
media and its advantages and disadvantages
and suitability for learning creative methods.
Implementations (examples):
1) A common jogging event on Sunday morning.
2) Drawing with 3-6 year old children and
organizing an art exhibition in FB.
3 )A common happening (Flash Mob) in the area
of the main railway station to join to
Elephants Marching.
4) A photograph tells more than 1000 words.
Results: What did we learn about this?
*our young students know alot about social
media and can use it
*social media is quite an open space for
creativeness and there are no limits
*it is easy to find people to co-operate and
share their ideas in social media
*social media seems to be availble for ordinary
people
*feedback was positive
*the daily creativity and suitable tools seem to
be the basis for innovative work
*
*What creative are you doing in social media?
Personally and at work? What is creative?
*Are your students familiar with creative
methods and social media? List of social media?
*Can our students work/study together in these
kinds of study units (in a common virtual
working space)? What more do we need?
*Do we have common interests to make
innovations together?
Thank You
and Have a Nice Summer!
