This weekly progress report discusses the design of a toaster by an engineering team. They are considering whether to use a microcontroller to automatically open the toaster, but there are concerns it could be damaged by the heat. Test results of a circuit using a microcontroller were unsatisfactory. The team needs to redesign the structure so that any additional components will fit within the original design. Next week they will focus on finalizing the circuit design and ensuring all information is included.
