5. 1) What is Jibe?
Jibe is a multiuser 3d virtual world platform created by
ReactionGrid and accessible via a web browser or
standalone client.
Jibe allows you to design and manage your own virtual
world which can either be hosted by ReactionGrid or fully
installed on your own servers.
With a single click install and no browser restart, users can
instantly be in your fully customized multiuser 3d virtual
world.
6. 2) Jibe Architecture
The Jibe platform is an extensible architecture that uses a
middleware abstraction layer to communicate with multiple
backend systems (currently SmartFox & Photon) and
frontends (currently Unity3D).
Current deployments of Jibe worlds utilize the Unity3D web
plugin, with iOS and Android support under development.
8. 3) The Unity3D Editor
Using the Unity3D Editor to build your Jibe world gives you
access to a professional development environment with
professional quality graphics, physics and sound.
You can create 3d assets within the Editor or import assets
created with any industry standard 3d modeling program
(Maya, Blender, Lightwave, Google Sketchup, 3D Studio
Max, Autodesk, & more).
The Unity3D Editor also supports scripting in C#, Javascript
and Boo, allowing you to design highly interactive
environments and objects.
24. 4) Additional Features and Services
Customizable 3D avatars, private/public text chat, support
for high user concurrency, Vivox voice integration, hooks for
Augmented Reality/SCADA/robotics/telemetry applications,
a built-in registration database, detailed logging of inworld
events and user tracking, and the ability to integrate with
existing user databases like LDAP, Facebook Connect,
LMS and CMS.
ReactionGrid offers classes and tutorials on how to set up
and manage your Jibe world, as well as ongoing customer
support. We are also available for custom development
work, and our Jibe Marketplace offers additional scripts,
objects, media files and web components to help you get up
to speed quickly.
