What Is The
Best Weight
Loss Diet?
It is difficult to compare all the fat loss
diets; however there is a study that found
out that out of 4 non-commercial fat loss
diets, the Paleo diet leads the pack.
The study divided 280 overweight individuals
into four groups (Vegan, Mediterranean, DASH
and Paleo). After 60 days, the Paleo diet group
lost the highest amount of body fat.
Each of the diets had its own advantages. For
example, Vegan diet ranked 2nd and it made
the largest improvements in the cholesterol
level of the participants.
The DASH diet was discovered to be the best
for lowering triglyceride levels which is a key
risk factor for type 2 diabetes, while the
Mediterranean diet is the easiest to follow.
The best weight loss diet according to
the study does not really mean
anything to you if you cannot stick
with it!
However, if you want to go for the best
weight loss diet which is the Paleo
diet, there are few things you need to
know.
The Paleo diet focuses on eating the foods that
our ancient ancestors in the Paleolithic era might
likely have eaten before humans started farming,
processing foods and domesticating animals.
The Paleo diet involves fasting and then
feasting on certain foods. It does not
focus on calorie counting but on when and
how to eat.
Paleo diet is basically a high-protein and
high-fiber diet. On this diet, it is okay to
eat:
Fruits
Non-starchy vegetables
Lean Meats
Fish
Seafood
Nuts and Seeds
Healthy Fats
Eggs
Foods NOT allowed on the
Paleo diet include:
Dairy
Grains
Wheat
Processed Foods & Sugars
Legumes
Starchy vegetables
Alcohol
Salt

Here Is How To Do The Paleo Diet
A.) Stage One  For the first 2 weeks, in the
morning drink a large sized glass of water.
During the day, eat unsalted nuts and fresh
fruits.
For dinner, have a big meal - eat whatever
you like; it could be pizza, French fries,
hamburger etc.
B.) Stage Two  The next 6 weeks, drink
a large sized glass of water every morning.
During the day, eat nothing while drinking
8  10 glasses of water to help detoxifying
your body.
For dinner, feast on non-starchy
vegetables, berries, fish, meat, sea-foods,
nuts and eggs.
C.) Stage Three  At this stage, keep drinking
water every morning and feasting in the evening.
However you can give in to your hunger during the
day and eat only unprocessed, natural foods like:
lean meats, nuts, vegetables, seeds, fishes like
salmon that are rich in omega-3 fatty acids and
fruits.
For dinner, only eat foods allowed by the Paleo diet.
Stay at this stage for as long as you would like.
The Paleo diet is not about losing weight as
fast as possible, instead it takes a full-life
approach aimed at burning fat, building
lean muscle and increasing energy levels.
Supporters of the Paleo diet claim that
apart from fat loss it gives a lot of health
benefits but they have been no actual
scientific studies to back these claims.
Pros Of The Paleo Diet
1.) It condemns
processed foods and
other bad foods.
2.) It is a low-salt diet
which helps you
heart and
cardiovascular
system.
3.) There is no need for calorie counting
when you are on this diet, since it is high
in protein & fibre which are very filling
making it difficult to overeat.
4.) It helps in stabilizing your blood sugar
levels.
5.) No exercise is required when on this
diet; however I recommend you exercise to
speed up your fat loss.
Cons of The Paleolithic Diet
1.) It eliminates whole classes of
food from your diet (starchy
carbohydrates and dairy products).
2.) The everyday fasting of one big
meal a day in stage 2 of the Paleo
diet is difficult for some men.
3.) Adding a lot of fish, meat and sea-food to
your diet can increase your grocery bill. These
kinds of foods are more expensive than
starchy carbohydrates.
However, the effects of the pros and cons
of the diet depend on the extent at which
you take it. The diet is a bit open-ended
the moment you get to stage 3.
Just because the Paleo diet was ranked
the best fat loss diet in a study does
NOT mean you should follow it for fat
loss. It may be too hard for you.
You are better off restricting your caloric
intake to no more than 2000 calories... add
cardio exercises and weight training and
you would be losing body fat gradually.
