Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is an approach to designing instructional materials and content so that all learning styles can access learning equally. It is based on principles of universal design in architecture which aims to provide accessibility for all. UDL benefits education by providing multiple means of representation, expression, and engagement to give all students an equal opportunity to learn. The three main principles of UDL are providing multiple means of representation, action and expression, and engagement.
