PDHPE is an important subject in schools for several reasons. It teaches children about health, nutrition, and how to keep their bodies fit, which can help address rising obesity rates. It also educates students on safety, including drug education, stranger danger, and bullying prevention. Participating in sports through PDHPE helps children understand teamwork, dealing with winning and losing, and can prevent isolation. While PDHPE covers these important topics, there is currently a lack of support for the subject from parents, students, teachers, and the school system.
