WHAT DID DOS LOOK LIKE (DISK OPERATING SYSTEM) YOU HAD TO TYPE ALL THE COMMANDS AFTER THE H: TO GET THE FILE CREATED, SAVED INTO A CERTAIN FOLDER, TO PRINT IT ETC.  IT WAS VERY TIME CONSUMING AND NOT EVERYONE COULD GET THE HANG OF IT LIKE THEY CAN WITH WINDOWS TODAY WITH POINT AND THE CLICK OF THE MOUSE
DOS ORIGINALLY CALLED QDOS IT WAS ACTUALLY DEVELOPED BY A GUY NAMED GARY KILDAR WHO RECENTLY PASSED AWAY HE SOLD IT TO PAUL ALLEN AND BILL GATES AND THEY CALLED IT MS DOS THERE WAS MORE TO IT THAN THAT BUT THAT IS IN THE HISTORY SECTION MS FOR  M ICRO S OFT
WINDOWS 3.1 AND THEN CAME  GUI GUI???  YES, GUI DOS REQUIRED YOU TO TYPE LINES AND LINES AND LINES AND MORE LINES OF TEXT CALLED COMMANDS THESE COMMANDS WERE USED TO PRINT AND SAVE AND OPEN AND MAKE NEW FILES AND IT WAS A PAIN

WINDOWS 95-IT GOT EASIER WINDOWS 3.1 WAS REVOLUTIONARY BUT STILL HARD TO USE SO. . ..  MICROSOFT DEVELOPED WINDOWS 95  WINDOWS 95 WAS EASIER TO POINT AND CLICK AND HAD ICONS FOR EVERYTHING COMPUTERS STARTED USING PLUG AND PLAY WHERE THE COMPUTER RECOGNIZED NEW DEVICES THAT ARE ADDED TO THE COMPUTER
WINDOWS XP THE UNDERLYING OPERATING SYSTEM OF WINDOWS MAKES SOME CHANGES YOU DONT SEE TOO MANY MAJOR CHANGES BUT THE UNDERNEATH PROGRAMMING CHANGES DRASTICALLY IT NO LONGER IS RUNNING ON DOS TOTALLY
