WoMoz aims to promote more women in open source software by raising awareness of the lack of confidence, encouragement, and freedom of speech women face in the field due to social and cultural issues. The project works to address unconscious exclusion through humor, assumptions, and views of coding as superior. It is led by Mitchell Baker and involves communities like Debian Women and PyLadies.
