WordPress is a content management system that makes it easy to build websites. It comes in two flavors - WordPress.com which hosts the site for you but with limited customization, and WordPress.org which gives you complete control but requires hosting and technical skills. Themes and plugins can be used to customize WordPress sites and add functionality. The WordPress dashboard provides tools for managing posts, pages, media, comments, users and settings.
