- 4. GODS DESIGN Work is good In the beginning, there was work God works 蟷 蠏碁れ蟆 企ゴ 覯讌蟷 伎蟾讌 狩 狩 襷 (覲旧 5:17) My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I too am working (John 5: 17) 4

GODS DESIGN Mark of human dignity 企ゴ 磯Μ 磯 磯Μ 覈襦 磯Μ螳 襷り 蠏碁る 覦れ 覓手蠍一 螳豢螻 螻 蠍磯 覈 蟆 れるΜ蟆 螻 (谿曙瑚鍵 1:26) Then God said, Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground. (Genesis 1: 26) Called and assigned れ 譯手 螳 蟆 譯殊 襦 螳 覿襯伎 蠏碁襦 願 覈 蟲 伎 螳 覈碁 (螻襴磯 7:17) Nevertheless, each person should live as a believer in whatever situation the Lord has assigned to them, just as God has called them. This is the rule I lay down in all the churches. (1 Corinthians 7: 17) 5

PROBLEM Fruitless り 螳る螻 蟆企ゼ 蟆企 (谿曙瑚鍵 3:18a) It will produce thorns and thistles for you (Genesis 3:18a) Meaningless 企覩襦 願 蟆 覩語碁 企 殊 願 蟯企 覈 覦 ′朱る 蟆願鍵 覓語企 ( 2:17) So I hated life, because the work that is done under the sun was grievous to me. All of it is meaningless, a chasing after the wind (Ecclesiastes 2:17) 6

PROBLEM Idol If we do not believe that God is gracious to us and is pleased with us, or if we presumptuously expect to please Him only through and after our works, then it is all pure deception , outwardly honoring God, but inwardly setting up self as a false god. - Luther Selfish 襷 , 煙螻 蟇伎ろ 蠏 蠎蠍磯ゼ 衰 磯Μ 企 願 讌覃伎 伎 覃危 (谿曙瑚鍵 11:4) Then they said, Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves; otherwise we will be scattered over the face of the whole earth. (Genesis 11: 4) 7

RESOLUTION Perspective 螳 譬 覓殊 襦覿 觜れ 覯讌蟷襦覿 企れる (手覲伎 1:17) every good and perfect gift is from above . . . from the Father of the heavenly lights. - (James 1:17) Do not worship work I will still serve my nation, but I will no longer worship my nation. Syrias national interests are important to me, but are no longer my ultimate value or god. - Naaman, 2 Kings 5 8

RESOLUTION Work to serve 蠏碁一 螳 襾豪讌 襷讌 覓伎 讌 蟯 (螻襴磯 10:31) So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. 1 (Corinthians 10: 31) Rest 螻螻 覓願碓 讌 讌 れ 願襦 る 願 襯 蟆 襴. 襷 螻 蟆語 覃襯 覃螻 願 覦一磯 蠏碁Μ覃 襷 殊 詞朱Μ. 企 覃 所 讌 螳覯殊企 . (襷覲旧 11:28 - 30) Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light (Matthew 11: 28 30). 9
- 10. If the God of the Bible exists, and there is a True Reality beneath and behind this one, and this life is not the only life, then every good endeavor, even the simplest ones, pursued in response to Gods calling, can matter forever.
