Doing the audit
The basics
息 Peter Watson, 2018, impactfacilitation.com.au
Tracking your time can be tedious, so it's important to have a compelling reason. Do you
want to identify your most productive times of day? Eliminate time-wasters? Track your
achievements?
Make some predictions.
For example:
What percentage of your time do you spend on different activities?
When are your most and least productive times of day?
What are your biggest productivity challenges?
Track everything you do in 15 minute increments
Do this for 12 weeks
Don't skip anything! You won't get accurate results otherwise
Track digitally (using an app or spreadsheet) or on paper

How do I tend to waste time?
Why do I waste time?
This may not be obvious, but look
for patterns in when and what you
tend to procrastinate on.
Possible reasons: low energy, task
is overwhelming, not sure of next
step.
Which times of day am I...
Most productive? Least productive?
Does the way I spend my time reflect my priorities?
How do my results compare with my predictions at the beginning?
Making changes
Choose some goals to work towards based on your results.

Are there any other interesting patterns or discoveries?
Tip: Don't try to change too
many things at oncepick
one or two.
focus on one task instead
of getting distracted
spend less time watching
TV
do most important work
when you're most
