The TP temperature plug is a low-cost alternative to conventional head transmitters for measuring temperature sensors. It converts Pt100/Pt1000 temperature sensor signals to a 4-20 mA analogue output. Unlike head transmitters, it has standardized M12 connections for easy mounting and wiring. The transmitter's measuring range is scalable from -50 to 300¡ãC via IO-Link. It is suitable for harsh applications due to its small size, 4-wire evaluation, and IP67 rating providing high vibration resistance and moisture protection.

TP temperature plug ¨C the alternative to the head
transmitter
Essen, 18 March 2010 - With the TP temperature plug, ifm electronic
offers a low-cost alternative to conventional head transmitters.
The TP temperature plug is a Pt100 / Pt1000 measured signal converter
to provide analogue values (4...20 mA).
In contrast to the head transmitters, the temperature plug features two
standardised M12 connections reducing complex mounting considerably.
Temperature sensors with M12 connection can be screwed without any
tools. The chance of any error or more complex mounting occuring during
the wiring of head transmitters is a thing of the past.
The transmitter features a measuring range that is scalable from -
50...300 ¡ã via IO-Link. The green status LED signa ls the operating
C
status.
Full potting of the housing ensures high vibration resistance of 20 g
(10...2000 Hz) and prevents penetration of moisture. This is proven by
protection rating IP 67.
Thanks to its small size and the 4-wire evaluation, the TP temperature
plug is especially suitable for harsh applications since it can be installed
in a safe location via a connection cable.
