- 3. Logan and raven ? Logan’s mutant powers are awakened at age thirteen when he stabbed his family's groundskeeper for apparently killing his father, fleeing after discovering the groundskeeper was in-fact his biological father and seeing the revulsion in his mother's eyes at him killing him. With his half-brother Victor Creed, Howlett spends the next century fighting in numerous wars including the Second World War, in which while held in a Japanese POW camp in 1945 he saves the life of Japanese officer Ichirō Yashida from the bombing of Nagasaki, and the Vietnam War, where he's briefly a member of a black-ops strike team "Team X", led by Colonel William Stryker, after he protects Victor for killing a superior officer who had tried to stop him killing a villager, before leaving due to the group's disregard for life. However, Howlett's past catches up to him in Canada where he is living under the name "Logan", despite his relationship with Kayla Silverfox, with both the Weapon X project in which he's pitted against Stryker and Creed in 1973, having adamantium grafted to his bones. ? One night, in 1944 Raven first met Charles Xavier, when she was caught by him while going through the cupboards searching for food in the kitchen, and was disguised as his mother when Charles found her. After he caught her, a young Charles accuses his "mother" of being an imposter, and asks what she has done with his real mother. He revealed his power of reading minds, explaining that his mother would not make him a sandwich or hot chocolate, at which point, Mystique shifts back to her normal, blue-skinned form, and the 2 mutants formally introduced each other. Overjoyed to meet someone else "different" like him, Charles says Raven can come stay and live with him and his family, and she can never be hungry again. They both started a friendship and became adoptive foster siblings. Raven, also known as Mystique, was a mutant who possesses the ability of metamorphism. Once a member of Magneto's Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, she joined the X-Men in 1983 when Apocalypse threatened the world.
- 4. Alex and bobby ? Alex Summers was first shown to be in solitary confinement in a government prison, preferring it due to the uncontrollable nature of his powers. In 1962, his release was arranged by Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr in order for him to join their team of mutant peacekeepers they were forming for the CIA. The warden cautioned them about putting him with others in a group, as Alex was the only prisoner he'd known to actually prefer solitary confinement. Alex reluctantly joins them. ? Bobby lived with his mother, father and younger brother, eventually he began to display mutant abilities but he kept it from them out of fear. He convinced his parents to send him to a fancy prep school but in reality he went to Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. He felt like he belonged and became good friends with Pyro.
- 5. Jean and erik ? Jean Grey is an evolved mutant with powerful telekinetic and telepathic abilities, further enhanced by the cosmic energies of the Phoenix Force. She studied at Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters and trained as a second- generation member of the X-Men under the tutelage of Professor X. Jean was enrolled at Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, where Charles recognized her limitless potential as a class five mutant. However, because most of Jean's power was tied to her unconscious mind, Charles decided to create a series of psychic barriers to isolate them from her conscious mind. This resulted in Jean developing a dual personality, which called itself the "Phoenix" in her sessions with Charles. The Phoenix was a purely instinctual being, comprised of Jean's deepest desires, joy and rage. It was unclear how much Jean was aware of the Phoenix, but for most of her life, the dual personality remained dormant. ? Erik was a German Mutant activist and supremacist, who eventually became the terrorist known as Magneto. Erik was a formidable opponent, even for Telepaths, as he possessed Shaw's Helmet, which allowed him to avoid having his mind manipulated. Erik's supremacist tendencies sprouted from his time in the Nazi Concentration Camps, where he was tortured by Sebastian Shaw. He has the power to control metal.

Professor X (born Charles Francis Xavier) is a mutant, the leader and creator of the X-Men and the founder of the Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters and one of the most powerful telepaths in the world (rivaled only by Jean Grey). His dream of a peaceful coexistence between mutants and humanity has long been the driving force for the X-Men. ? An immensely powerful telepath and scientific genius, Professor X was mainly known as the heart and soul of the X-Men, having first formed the team of mutants back in
- 7. Kurt and peter ? Nightcrawler (born Kurt Wagner) is a mutant with the ability to teleport. He is a member of the X-Men. ? Peter Maximoff, (born in the 1950s) also known as Quicksilver, is a mutant capable of moving and thinking at superhuman speeds. Following the defeat of En Sabah Nur in 1983, he joined the X-Men under the tutelage of Beast and Mystique.
- 8. Rouge and kitty ? Rogue (born Marie) is a mutant who absorbs the powers or memories of any person touching her skin; if the contact continues for too long, it may kill the other person. She is a member of the X-Men and the girlfriend of Iceman. ? Kitty, also known as Shadowcat, is a mutant with the ability to phase through matter and project a person's consciousness back in time. She was a student at Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters and trained as a member of the X-Men alongside Colossus, Rogue, and Iceman.
- 9. Storm and hank ? Storm (born Ororo Munroe) is a mutant with the ability to control weather. She is a member of the X-Men. ? Beast (born Henry Philip "Hank" McCoy) is a mutant that has the ability to transform into a blue skinned creature with fangs and claws. He was one of Charles Xavier's students and was also a teacher in the Xavier Institute. Henry "Hank" McCoy was a child prodigy, having graduated Harvard at age 15. He was eventually hired to work as a researcher for the CIA, wherein he investigated supersonic flight and built the Cerebro prototype. One day in 1962, he was approached by the CIA, Charles Xavier, Erik Lehnsherr, Moira MacTaggert, and Raven during the early formation of the X-Men as a black-ops group.
- 10. Scott and wade wilson ? Cyclops (born Scott Summers) is a mutant with the ability to fire an optic blast from his eyes. Having been one of the first members of the modern group of X-Men, Scott Summers was chosen to succeed his mentor and become the X-Men's field leader. ? During the Vietnam War in mid-late 1973, a young Wade was a member of a black ops group called Team X under the command of William Stryker. The team also included James "Logan" Howlett, Victor Creed, Christopher Bradley, Agent Zero, John Wraith, and Fred Dukes. He did as his leader ordered when it came to killing people, with Stryker even going so far as claiming that Wade would be the perfect soldier if it weren't for his inability to stop talking. ? Six years later, after Team X broke up, Wade was captured and taken to Stryker's base at Three Mile Island, where he was experimented on for the Weapon XI project. He was the first Team X member to be killed by Victor, and his body was used as a catalyst for the Weapon XI project. With Victor's help, Stryker gathered and collected the DNA from mutants whose powers could be used collectively within one body without destroying it, with Wade being the host body. By then, Wade was gone, and was now known as Weapon XI, "The Mutant Killer" - Deadpool (as Stryker explained - a "dead" mutant who had other powers "pooled" up into him). Stryker also seals Wade's mouth and gives him an adamantium skeleton.

The story, inspired by Chris Claremont and John Byrne's The Uncanny X-Men comic book storyline "Days of Future Past", features Wolverine going back in time to 1973 to prevent an assassination that, if carried out, will lead to the creation of a new weapons system called the Sentinels that threatens the existence of mutants—and, potentially, all of humanity.

The film introduces Logan and Rogue into the conflict between Professor Xavier's X-Men and the Brotherhood of Mutants, led by Magneto. Magneto intends to mutate world leaders at a United Nations summit with a machine he has built to bring about acceptance of mutantkind, but he was not aware that this forced mutation will result only in their deaths.

X-Men: The Last Stand (2006) ? A pharmaceutical company has developed a "cure" that suppresses the mutant gene, provoking controversy in the mutant community. Magneto declares war on the humans and retrieves his own weapon: Phoenix, the resurrected former X- Men member Jean Grey. A final battle between the X-Men and the Brotherhood ensues, and Wolverine must accept that in order to stop Grey, he will have to kill her.

Mercenary and former Special Forces operative Wade Wilson is subjected to an experiment that leaves him with new abilities.
