Librarians face many misconceptions and assumptions that do not reflect the reality of the profession. A master's degree is necessary for librarians to evolve with changing information needs, adapt new technologies, and facilitate knowledge creation within their communities. Modern librarians do much more than shelve books - they conduct research, teach information literacy skills, and seek ways to help patrons through reference services, digital collections, and community outreach.
