Today: I Observed an amazing teaching team in a kindergarten class of 50 kids. After recess, they had a "class meeting"-- "hurts & wishes" -- They sat in a circle and went around to each kid. Some kids passed. Others stood up, said the name of a "friend" who hurt them that day. Two kids at a time faced each other as friends watched and listened. The first told the second what the other had done to hurt, then followed with a sentence: "I wish..." The second kid followed with an apology. No excuses.
Tonight: The "images" delighting me are of 50 future adults sitting around a table with friends, or their own families, conversing rather than screaming. Enough said.
