I am a graduate of the Department of Agricultural Biotechnology of the Agricultural University of Athens (AUA 2002), holder of a Masters Degree (MSc) in "Food Science and Technology"​ (2003) from the Department of Food Science and Technology and of a PhD Degree in Agricultural Sciences, scientific field of Food Microbiology, from the same University (2008).
An important part of my doctoral thesis was executed at the Units of: (i) Bacterial Biochemistry, and (ii) Bioadhesion and Hygiene of Materials, of the French National Institute of Agricultural Research (INRA-AgroParisTech, Paris), where I worked for 20 months, as a recipient of a EU Marie Curie fellowship.
