I grew up in the Harrisonburg, VA area specifically a small community called Linville. We had a store and a post office, That was it. I was the youngest of seven, but I am also an only child. Both of my parents were married before, I am their only child together.
I graduated from Broadway High School. I went to college right out of high school and it did not work out. I just did not know what I wanted to be when I grew up. Plus I was working full time at Kroger at night and trying to go to school during the day.
I enlisted in the Navy in 1994. I served on two submarines and then was selected to the Enlisted Commissioning Program that made me a Surface Warfare Officer. The Navy paid
