I'm a professor in the Sociology Department and the Director of the Center for Mexican American Studies at UT-Arlington
My strongest feature is my pride in my Mexican heritage and my dedication to highlighting the positive aspects of that heritage! That's what my work is about at the University. I'm also blessed with three extraordinary children, even though I'm a "mother lion" worrier at times. My oldest, Pete just completed his sophomore year at UT-Austin in Plan II Liberal Arts Honors program, with a major in, God help him, Sociology. Jordan Alejandro is at Texas Tech! Julia Grace is beginning 10th grade in Istanbul, Turkey, living with her father who works abroad, and she seeems to
