Artist - I am an American artist working in Rome. I use photography as the starting point for complex visual elaborations which ultimately deal with the complex relationship between seeing and truth. My photographic installations become visual combinations of both personal intentions and larger ideas. Educator - In the past twenty-eight years I have taught fine art to university students, middle school & elementary students and I have also mentored numerous art education student teachers. I began my studies in the Visual Arts at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs NY in 1975 and in 1977 I travelled to Italy for a junior year abroad.
