For as long as I can remember, I’ve been a professional communicator. I’m the oldest of five children and my fourth-grade teacher, Mrs. Truitt, threatened to send me to the coat closet for talking but feared I’d “just talk to the coats.” The talking continued - I studied Spanish and French in college. Since then, the work I do is about storytelling — supporting a brand promise, informing or persuading an audience, delivering a message, or promoting a service. I spend my time thinking about communications strategy for colleges and universities across the country.
