Peter E. Sutherland received his BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maine and his PhD in Electric Power Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, NY. In 1987, he joined a major company, and held a variety of positions, becoming a Senior Engineer. In 2001, he joined SuperPower, Inc., Schenectady, N.Y., where he worked on applications of superconductivity to electric power systems. In 2003, he joined EPRI鈥檚 Schenectady, NY office as a Consulting Engineer. In 2005, he rejoined his previous employer as a Senior Power Systems Engineer.
