YouTube saw a sharp increase in internet traffic from 2010-2020 due to rising video streaming. Before being acquired by Google, YouTube had limited infrastructure with only 7 video servers and 3 web servers, relying on a CDN to distribute videos. After the acquisition, Google significantly expanded YouTube's infrastructure using their network of edge servers and caches globally. This improved video delivery speeds and quality of service. Quality of service on YouTube is evaluated based on content, system performance, user experience, and environmental context levels to optimize the viewing experience.
