What the heck is a Table Read?
The read-through, or "table-read" is one stage of film and theatre production when an organized reading around a table of the screenplay or script by the actors with speaking parts is conducted. The read-through usually takes place towards the end of pre-production but before the rehearsal period, if any has been scheduled. It gathers many of the cast members and production team to go through the script together.
